It gives partners a powerful foundation to expand practices, enter new markets, grow recurring revenue through high-impact services and unique IP built on top of the platform.
That belief is shaping everything we build—from how we go to market, to how we reward growth, to how we drive demand and scale enablement. The announcements we made at Editions.dev reflect this shift: a deeper investment in the programs, incentives, and tools that help you lead with confidence—and win alongside merchants.
Here’s a look at what’s new, what’s coming, and how we’re scaling our commitment to partners.
More ways for Partners to sell Shopify
Starting in June, partners will be able to pitch, solution, and sell Shopify Plus directly through Shopify Plus Development Stores in the Partner Dashboard—giving you greater autonomy to lead the sales cycle, especially for merchants ready to launch quickly.
You already own the merchant relationship. Now, you’ll be empowered to move faster—building and managing Plus stores on their behalf, reducing friction, and maintaining full control and trust throughout the process.
Also launching in June: the Shopify Reseller Program. This invitation-only program enables select partners to bill subscription fees on behalf of merchants—owning the entire journey from first sale through long-term success. It delivers a more seamless and integrated experience for your clients, and more opportunity for you.
We’re starting with a focused group of partners who’ve demonstrated proven reach and impact. As we scale this model, we look forward to expanding access to more partners in the future.
Together, these programs reflect our commitment to a partner-led go-to-market model—where you don’t just deliver value, you capture more of it.
More ways to solution and service Shopify
We’re building smarter ways to match partners to merchants—through an intelligent partner recommendation engine that considers your proven success, capacity, and merchant feedback. This system will power both direct merchant recommendations and internal sales referrals.
We’re also scaling enablement. Shopify Academy now offers over 230 live courses—and by the end of 2025, that number will more than double. Even better, we’re embedding partner expertise directly into the curriculum, making the Academy a true reflection of the ecosystem’s collective knowledge. Skills will increasingly drive growth—not just for merchants, but for how we recommend and support you.
And we’re doubling down on incentives. Starting July 1, partners will earn revenue share on both recurring subscription fees and variable platform fees. As your merchants grow their GMV, your earnings grow too. This is a major step forward—rewarding partners not just for onboarding merchants, but for driving long-term success.
Bottom line: more value for you, and more opportunity to earn as your impact scales.
